Description
Up for auction is this beyond rare, religious shellac 78 RPM record. This is the first of the series of recordings that narrated the Religious film, titled: THE PHOTO-DRAMA OF CREATION. It is credited by some film historians to be the first soundtrack of a film. These recordings were made in 1912 by Pastor Charles Taze Russell, Leader at the time of the INTERNATIONAL BIBLE STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (IBSA), a forerunner of the Jehova Witness Organization. The film premiered in 1914 in the USA and Europe.
This record has 4 sections or tracks: 1- GOD’S GLORY IN THE HEAVENS, 2- THE FIRST DAY OR EPOCH, 5- THE FORTH DAY OR EPOCH, 6- THE FIRST DAY OR EPOCH.
According to Pastor Russell, every day of the Creation, comprised 7,000 terrestrial days and therefore, one day was an epoch.
Shellack record is in very good condition visually, with few scuffs and even fewer scratches, that you can’t feel, passing your fingers on the surface of the record. This is a non- reserve auction with a low first bid, so if you are lucky, you can win this record at a moderate price. Good luck!
