Description

Includes 2 takes of "Boston Uncommon" and 2 takes of "The Wizard". Besides, Mariano, alto sax, the record features the outstanding Joe Gordon, trumpet, on some tracks. Also notable for the inclusion of pianist, Dick Tzardzik, on 1 track. Other artists that appear in various combinations are Sonny Truitt, trombone; Jim Clark, tenor sax; George Myers, baritone sax; Roy Frazee, Carl Goodwin, Gene Glennon, drums; Jack Lawlor, bass. Mariano plays on all tracks. The arrangements are outstanding on mainly original tunes.

Cover: VG+ or Better 2" split on the top edge; 3" split on the bottom edge. Record number is written neatly in the margin on the back cover. Very light aging on the back cover. Minor soil from ordinary handling.

Record: VG+ Visually shows no wear. There are a few very short, light rub marks and 3 or 4 tiny discoloration marks on the vinyl surface. There are some clicks and light crackles on all tracks. Possibly most of the noise cant be attributed to the early Prestige 10" pressings which all have some uneveness in surface noise. While there is audible interference, the music can be heard clearly and in many places the noise can not be heard. Audibly checked.
