Description

Blues & Roots     Charlie Mingus  Atlantic 1305  Mono "Pinwheel"  Label

Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting, Cryin' Blues, Moanin', Tensions, My Jelly Roll Soul, E's Flat Ah's Flat Too

Charles Mingus (bass) with sidemen including  Jackie McLean, John Handy, Booker Ervin, Mal Waldron, Horace Parlan, Jimmy Knepper, Pepper Adams etc

The record is VG++.  It is bright and glossy and without spindle marks or scratches. There is a very superficial "storage" mark near the beginning of "Wed Night"  which does not affect the grooves. The grooves do not show heavy wear or graying.  The record might have been played a few times and was well taken care of.  The label is deep groove both sides with the "pinwheel" label.  Both sides have "AT" stamped in the dead wax.

The cover is VG to VG+.  No split seams.  There is light to moderate overall wear which is heavier at the corners. Some denting at the bottom at the pocket. Back has some spots which are probably mold but are not too unsightly. Cover would be VG+ otherwise.  Still some gloss on front and it looks good.  The back cover has the "157 West 57 St., New York 19 New York" address.

I grade visually using the Goldmine grading code whixch is M, M-, VG++ (or EX), VG+, VG, G, F, P. The highest grade I use is M- and I rarely use it for 50s and 60s Lps. I spot play any potential problem areas and try to grade conservatively. You will be satisfied and no hassles.
