Description

Trumpet player logo, deep groove. Parker, alto sax on all tracks. I have listed some selected personnel from the 3 recording dates that make up this issue. 4 tracks from 1952 also includes unidentified strings, Chris Griffin, Al Porcino, trumpets; Will Bradley, Bill Harris, trombones; Lou Stein, piano; Don Lamond, drums and more. 4 tracks from 1952 includes Jimmy Maxwell, Bernie Privin, trumpets; Harris, Lou McGarity, trombones; Oscar Peterson, piano; Freddie Green, guitar and more. 2 tracks from 1950 with violins, viola; Maurice Brown, cello; Verley Mills, harp; Bernie Leighton, piano; Ray Brown, bass; Buddy Rich, drums and more. A total of 10 tracks arranged and conducted by Joe Lippman. The cover is unsigned but attributed to David Stone Martin.

Cover: VG+ 3" split on to top edge; 7" split on the bottom edge. Light overall wear and very light aging. Tiny, faded ink marks near the top edge of the front cover and some minor scuff marks near the top and bottom of the front cover.

Record: VG++ Visually shows moderate wear. A series of light brush-like rub marks on both sides. In spite of the surface marks, there are only a few audible clicks. Most of the record plays with no noise even through relatively quiet solos and string passages, such as on the ballad "Laura". I have have rated based on the visual appearance as the sound is closer to Mint (-). Audibly checked.
