Description

Very rare Charlie Parker 12" LP on Dial 901 "The Bird Blows the Blues".  The deep-groove record has yellow and red labels and is in extraordinary condition: the surfaces are bright and clean; there are two very faint tics on "Dark Shadows"; the opening of "Relaxin' at Camarillo" has a very light background hiss that disappears after about a minute; otherwise, the sound quality throughout is superb – bright and clears without any of the sustained hiss that frequently plagues Dial pressings.  Truly, the description is more severe than the listening experience – we have just tried to be accurate and fair.

The gold and gray textured cover is in remarkable condition – clean and bright and, other than very light rubbing at the most extreme tip of the corners, is just about in as exemplary a condition as any collector has seen, with no splits, writing or other defects.

Personnel includes Miles Davis, Howard McGhee and Wardell Gray.
