Such sounds as we now mention is about to unfold to your listening enjoyment as you place this recording onto your turntable. Wesley Peyton is more than a musician. He is one of the most dynamic, Pentecostal evangelists in the country today. Having be- gan his ministry at 18, licensed at 18, or- dained at 20 he has traveled more than one hundred and fifty thousand miles throughout the United States as an evangelist, camp- meeting speaker and musician. Wes attended Immanuel College in Frank- lin Springs, Georgia and East Carolina Uni- versity, Greenville, North Carolina. Here he received bis educational background to forti- fy him for the years of ministry which lay ahead. Thus far those years have included five years in pastorial work and four years in evangelistic work which has led him into more than one hundred revival campaigns. As a musician, Wes has played as camp- meeting pianist for the Pentecostal Holiness campmeeting in Falcon, North Carolina and because of the many requests, he has pro- duced this album. This recording was initially made in the Arthur Smith Studios in Charlotte, North Carolina. What unique experience this was for Wes and Jeanie, his wife, as they sang for the first time under such circumstances. We’re talking about trying to sing ten feet apart and hearing one another through the aid of earphones and backed by an organist who had gone so long without^ sleep until he hardly remembers making any recording at all. Jeanie, Wesley’s wife, has a personality all of her own and is second to none. She loves people and they love her. Wherever she goes with Wes she becomes an added asset to his ministry in song. On one side of this album she joins her husband in a duel role with beautiful melodies inspired by the Holy Spirit. In Jeanie’s solo in “What a Day’’, you'll sense her sincerety and fullness of soul. Lending an extra touch of keyboard ex- pressions is Emmett Hinkley, a close friend and fellow evangelist. Emmett backs up the Peytons with his organ stylings to produce the well rounded revival sounds that you are about to hear. So be adventurous.
