Description
In 1966, Chess Records released the Real Folk Blues series---they were Muddy Waters 1501; Howlin' Wolf 1502 and Sonny Boy Williamson 1503. To promote these three albums and the Real Folk Blues genre, they created this display for record store usage. It was pretty basic---the album sleeves of the first three releases plus an additional album jacket that simply says "The Real Folk Blues are on Chess Records" with the chess piece logo. I "liberated" the display from the Syracuse University book store after it had been up for a month or so. I have had this in my possession continually ever since (59 years!). I have never seen another one of these for sale anywhere. Simply said, they are four album cover sized pieces connected together to be hung as a display 12 1/4 inches wide and 50 inches in length.
