Chevrons V - I Lost You Today - Nook 45 Michigan Fenton

Great Grand Rapids Michigan mid-sixties Garage Rock and very hard to find! The Chevron's V do the song I Lost You Today. It came out in the mid-sixties. The other side is Niat Pac Lavram, which translates to Captain Marvel, backwards. Both sides play great. It is a U.S.  release on Nook Records (2010), which is in the same family as the much sought after Fenton Records, red label with black logo and black print. Even though there's the addition of the V (or Five) in their name on this, their first record, it is the same guys that released singles on Fenton and Dawn (a member's girlfriend's name) as The Chevrons. Although this is on Nook instead of Fenton, it was recorded at the Fenton studio and the catalog number falls in with the Fenton releases. My friend Bob Goote was a member of this group. When I asked him what the significance of "Nook" was, he wasn't sure other than to say, "We figured it was like 'nookie.' He wasn't sure how many copies of these they had pressed but thought at the most it was 500, which he thought was the minimum they could order at the time. Then, he said, "I don't know. Maybe we only had 250 of the Nook single." So, I don't know exactly how many of these there were, but it wasn't very many. These songs are not included on the recent Fenton Records boxed set. This came before the Chevrons' Fenton single and has some great surf guitar on both sides. The vinyl is a strong VG and some would say better with great gloss left. It definitely plays at least VG+. The label is VG+ with very minor wear and no writing or stickers. Considering it's rareness (is that a word?)  I'm starting it a low minimum bid and no reserve! Some price guides list the Fenton and Dawn singles by The Chevrons, but it's as though they didn't know this one was even out there. This doesn't come up for sale very often and the last time I saw it on ebay, it sold for over $800!
