This Auction is for a CBS 1/2 Speed Master LP "Out of Print" These Albums were mastered in Half-Speed technology which allows more time for the Original Session Master Tape to be transferred perfectly to Vinyl, a very costly and time-consuming process that was also used by MFSL. Each has superior packaging and unique static free inner sleeves to protect each piece of vinyl. Known for their pure and natural sound.
Chicago IX: Chicago's Greatest Hits is the first greatest hits album, and ninth album overall, by the American band Chicago and was released in 1975 by Columbia Records in both stereo (PC 33900) and SQ quadraphonic (PCQ 33900) versions.
Including all of Chicago's biggest hits thus far, this set stretches from their 1969 debut, The Chicago Transit Authority, to 1974's Chicago VII. Chicago VIII and its hits, having only come out just months earlier, were considered too recent to anthologize, while Chicago III's material was overlooked for inclusion because of its lack of truly big hit singles.
Chicago IX proved to be an enormous seller. It reached #1 in the US during a chart stay of 72 weeks.[2] Even though 2002's The Very Best of: Only the Beginning superseded it, Chicago IX was also reissued by Rhino Records, Chicago's current distributor. The album did not chart in the UKThe Man with the Horn is an album released by Miles Davis in 1981, featuring drummer Al Foster, saxophonist Bill Evans, guitarists Mike Stern and Barry Finnerty, and others. It was Davis's first new release since 1975, following a six-year reclusive retirement.
Rock-oriented in nature, the music fuses 1980s pop with improvisational funk and fusion styles. The album marked Davis's return to his more traditional trumpet playing, although the title song "The Man with the Horn" features wah-wah improvisation along with vocals.
