Description

The Chicago Loopers play "Three Blind Mice" (stated take 1) and "Clorinda" (stated take 4) on Perfect 14910.  Both performances are jazz classics.
Bix Beiderbecke (cnt); Don Murray (cl, ts); Frankie Trumbauer (c-mel); Frank Signorelli (p); Eddie Lang (g) or unknown (g); Vic Berton (d, harpophone); Deep River Quintet (vcl); Willard Robison (ldr).  Recorded in New York in October 1927.
This record is only in G condition, with a tight 2-1/2 inch crack that runs from the rim through all of the grooves, getting tighter, thinner and quieter as it goes (see last photo).  There are many scratches that rustle in the background.  So why bother with this noisy record?  Because "Three Blind Mice" is the gem of the Loopers' session, and this is the take on which Bix daringly ends his solo on a major seventh.  There is still stunning music to be enjoyed here.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing.  I know how to pack records.
