Comments: Chicago singer on Chicago label. The co-producing Bobby Robinson is the Chicago recording man, unrelated to the famous NY music legend. Excellent 6/8 soul ballad – first class singing, first class backing. Another superb track on the flip – a slow-ish mid-tempo, by many considered the A-side, despite what the label indicates.
Ray Pettis had earlier in his career been part of the doo-wop group The Gems. Read more about him on Sir Shambling’s web.site.
