'The two tracks on here - 'Long Live The Lyrical' (which starts off hilariously with homeboy shouting "You ain't hittin' in L.A., Chill!") and 'Puttin' It Wildly' - are of equal calibre. Funky enough to have you turning your head and vocally strong enough to distance itself from a lot of similar things from the same era.

'Puttin' It Wildly' is out-and-out dope: familiar loop (that'd be 'Mardi Gras' - as he says, "On top of the bells: don't touch that EQ"), some neck-snapping drums, a healthy quantity of rhymes...

The production was handled by Chill himself and Rev Roc, who was doing ghost production for Mantronik previously.

Rev Roc also goes by the name of Ike Lee III; he went on to produce a lot of r&b tracks for artists such as Mary J. Blige and Erykah Badu and also remixed Ultramagnetic's 'Poppa Large'.
This seems to be the only release by Chill to date, and you can't help wishing he'd followed this up with some more music. Great stuff.'

Grading-

MINT : Absolutely perfect in every way.

NEAR MINT: A nearly perfect record. No obvious sign of wear.

EXCELLENT: A superior record with no more than faint signs that it has been played.  Label may not be in as good condition as a NM.

VERY GOOD PLUS: Played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have light scuffs or very light scratches that might slightly affect play. Obviously used but still in very nice condition.

VERY GOOD: Surface noise is evident upon playing but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.

GOOD: A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear
