"Letter From Jamaica" b/w "Monkey's Opinion"

ORIGINAL CHIN'S RADIO SERVICE 78 rpm 10" record "Chin's Calypso Sextet". Vocals by Alerth Bedasse & Lyrics by Everald Williams who became famous with their first controversial release "Night Food". The Record is in excellent condition, Nice glossy sheen, few very minor scuffs. RARE piece of musical history. These early recordings were very limited pressing and not made for resale so much as in the days of the "dance hall crashers" etc. where the DJ's would often scratch off the names of the records so other DJ's could not find them. This is golden age mento at it's best.. and the seeds of Roots Reggae in it's purest form. The 78 is in excellent condition with just minor scuffing, nice clean labels.   CLICK ON THE PICTURES TO HEAR A SOUND FILE! These sound files were made with the Audacity program and played at 45rpm then reconfigured by the magic of computers to 78rpm, I doubt the hiss would be as strong if I had recorded them at 78rpm originally.
