Description

*NOTE: When this arrived to me, the top seal was stuck to the inside of the shipping box, if that makes sense. This is one of those flip/resealable plastic sleeves. My guess is that it was never closed at the factory, remained open, and then when it was placed in the shipping box, it got stuck to the inside of the shipping box (just a theory). Anyhow, when I took it out of the shipping box, I immediately carefully pulled it off the inside of the shipping box and closed it to "seal" it...but now you can see "flakes" of the brown shipping box it was stuck to on the sticky part of the flap (please see the several close-up pics I took, as examples, to show what I am talking about). Additionally, there is a crease on the jacket (please see close-up pic), and there is a section of the plastic sleeve that is ripped (please see close-up pic), causing some edge wear in that corner of the jacket itself as well.  Sorry for the long explanation. I hope this makes sense. [Price has been reduced.]

From the record label:

Chris Cornell’s indelible and indomitable legacy as both a vocal behemoth capable of multi-octave aggression and sensitive heart-on-sleeve crooner remains unmatched. On Carry On, his second solo album, the singer showcases both of these sides in equal measure, sometimes within the same song. Cornell was coming off the breakup of hard rock supergroup Audioslave, saying at the time that “someone that writes songs as much as me and has the energy and focus in terms of songwriting and performing is probably someone who's more akin to a solo artist.”

With that, he enlisted superproducer Steve Lillywhite to re-engage the riff-rock part of his musical brain; a part that was consciously missing with his solo debut. “There's enough distance between now and Soundgarden's last record," he told Spinner at the time. "I got to really write some riff-oriented heavier songs, which I haven't done in a long time. It was exciting."

Still, Cornell always imbues beauty within the album’s controlled chaos. See his gorgeous cover of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean,” the mysterious Bond theme song "You Know My Name," or opener “No Such Thing,” which balances furious rage with romantic, McCartneyesque vocal melodies.
