Description

 The 'Very Urgent' album by the Chris McGregor Group was released on Polydor (184137) in 1968. The album features Chris McGregor (Piano), Dudu Pukwana (Alto Saxophone), Mongezi Feza (Pocket Trumpet), Ronnie Beer (Tenor Saxophone), Johnny Dyani (Bass) and Louis Moholo (Drums).

1. Marie My Dear (Pukwana) / Travelling Somewhere (McGregor)
2. Hearts' Vibrations (McGregor)

Side B
1. The Sounds Begin Again (McGregor) / White Lies (McGregor)
2. Don't Stir The Beehive (Traditional)

The album was produced by Joe Boyd.

I purchased the album when it was first released although it has only been played two or three times, including a play today to check its condition. The record is in NM condition (Photos of disc labels are included in this description) with only a couple of isolated quiet clicks in the last 15 seconds of Side B. The sound quality is pristine with no distortion or groove damage.

The cover is in VG+ condition. Photos included with this description are of the actual item being sold. There is no discoloration of the album cover, which has been stored in a record cabinet since new. There is minor creasing in the top left hand corner of the front cover (Please refer to close up photograph) although this is not critical.

I played this album to check the condition using Linn Sondek LP12 Turntable / Naim ARO Tonearm / Linn Troika Moving Coil Cartridge / Naim Armageddon Turntable Power Supply with Naim NAC52 Pre-Amplifier / Naim Supercap Pre-Amplifier Power Supply. I also used Naim NAP250 Power Amplifier and Naim SBL Loudspeakers. I recorded the album while it was playing using a Pioneer PDR-509 Compact Disc Recorder. A copy of the CD transcription will be supplied with the album to the successful bidder.
