Chromatics – Night Drive (Italians Do It Better – IDIB-028, 2 × Vinyl, LP, Album, Repress, Blue, 2014). Condition is Very Good; discs are excellent with no surface wear; cardboard sleeve has bump to foot of spine, rubbing to foil on rear cover; creases to insert.
Up for sale is the 2014 “Electric Blue” repress of Chromatics’ Night Drive, the Deluxe Edition of the band’s now-classic 2007 album, pressed on Italians Do It Better (catalog IDIB-028). Both LPs are on solid electric blue 180 gram vinyl, and the labels feature “Night Drive” printed in silver, which is the detail that identifies this specific repress among the label’s many colorway variants. The gatefold jacket has a striking chrome/silver foil “Night Drive” treatment on the back cover, styled after a vintage movie poster, with the “starring Ruth Radelet” film conceit that runs through all of the packaging. Includes the printed lyric/track insert. This fifteen-track edition restores the five bonus tracks that were originally scrapped from the 2007 release, including “Shining Violence,” “Circled Sun,” “Bell,” “The Gemini,” and “Accelerator,” alongside the tracks fans know best like “Running Up That Hill,” “Tick of the Clock,” and “I Want Your Love.” A great listen and a good-looking pressing for anyone into the Drive/synthwave revival sound or building out an Italians Do It Better collection.
