Artist: Chuck Berry Title: Chuck Berry is on Top Label/Number: Chess LP-1435 (M) Jacket condition: VG+ Record condition: VG Notes: This LP qualifies as one of those that I occasionally sell under the description of "rough but rare". The cover is in decent condition with some small writing on the front and some seam and corner wear detracting a bit. The bottom seam is split and neatly taped for about 4 inches at the opening. The classic photo and the other graphics on the front still look pretty good as do the photo, notes and title listings on the back. The labels are original black and silver versions and are in OK condition with a fair number of spindle marks and a few small scratches. The original owner also wrote his name in ink on Side 1. The vinyl still has good gloss but it has numerous light scuffs and scratches. It plays OK with some monor surface noise and a few light "ticks and pops". The music predominates but it's far from perfect. Still, this is a tough-to-find LP and the music itself is classic. Grading: Grading is usually only visual unless there are obvious problems that need to be checked out. I did play this one as noted above. I use Goldmine standards with a VG++ added for items NOT QUITE up to NM; but please read the notes above as I try to note anything that might influence the grading one way or another. I try to be conservative and grade as though I were buying the record and hope my feedback speaks well for my grading. Mono (M) or Stereo (S) is noted after catalog number. I ship in cardboard mailers made specifically for records with additional cardboard pads for added protection. Shipping and handling charges are a flat $4.00 for the first LP and $1.00 per additional LP. Overseas shipping on purchases under $50.00 may be sent by USPS First Class Mail International but I will upgrade at the buyer's request. Orders for more than $50.00 will need to be by Priority Mail International. This provides added protection for both the buyer and for me. The price will be the actual shipping costs plus $1.50 for the mailer and pads noted above.

I always mail in a poly sleeve with the record outside the jacket. If there's an original inner sleeve I also remove the record from that and put it in a plain sleeve for mailing. That way, there are no seam splits on either the jacket or the sleeve due to any handling in the mail.
