Some biographical information about Chuck Mayfield is found in the German Wikipedia. He was born in 1934 in Fort Smith Arkansas. In 1947, he moved with his family to Eloy, Arizona. Mayfield began his musical career in 1951, appearing with Ray Odom and the Sunset Riders. During the early to mid-1950s, he was very popular both within and outside Arizona. He guested on such shows as the Arizona Hayride, the Louisiana Hayride, the Saturday Night Shindig, and the Houston Hometown Jamboree. He also made an appearance, in 1956, at Madison Square Garden. Between 1954 and 1957, Mayfield released several singles on the Starday, Abbott, and Dot labels. However, my research suggests that the record I am selling was his only release on the Stanchel label and that this release was earlier (1952) than all the others. It is therefore likely the hardest of Mayfield's records to find!
