Description
This is a rare, 78 rpm copy of the classic country record "Little Sadie" and "Naomi Wise" by Clarence Ashley, recorded October 23rd, 1929. This is the first recording of "Little Sadie," which has been done by everyone from the Grateful Dead to Bob Dylan (who also sang "Naomi Wise," for that matter).
The record is in good condition - I'd say a bit better than good, considering the condition these early country records are usually found in. I played both sides, and it played through without any problem. There's some surface noise (particularly at the very beginning of each side), but it doesn't overpower the music - nor are the surface scratches particularly intrusive or frequent. I would call it Good+ ... it's still quite listenable and enjoyable, and, of course, these are both classic songs, and incredible performances for that matter. It comes in a vintage Columbia Viva-Tonal sleeve.
Sold as-is. The record will come double boxed, with the first box wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap and put into a flat rate medium priority mail box. The record will be sent fully insured.
Please do not ask me to open this up or (even worse) to send it media rate. It's already packed and ready to go. I hope you enjoy owning this one as much as I have for many years.
