Two boxed anthology LP sets ( 6 LP's total ) and booklets detailing the history and theory used for instruction from Ravi Shanker and Ali Akbar Khan as used at the Kinnara School of Indian Music in L.A. in the 70's when Shanker et.al. were popular after the Beatles introduced some of their sounds to the pop world. The LP box covers show a some wear, but the LP's are perfect. #1 is The Anthology of Indian Music Volume One, WDS-26200, 1967 Ravi Shankar, Ali Akbar Khan, Balachander and others. Booklet and 3 LP's #2 is Ragas Of India, Connoisseur Society Library recording, SRL 1103, 1971 Ali Akbar Khan, Mahapurush Misra Booklet and 3 LP's See condition description for details.
If you are wanting to play an Indian Classical instrument then these recordings and the booklets are invaluable for learning. Not only are the music and theory notes helpful, these recordings and notes are the same as the ones they actually used in the L.A. school of indian music in the early 1970's. Of course the music itself is timeless classical Indian works played by the acknowledged masters of their respective instruments.
