Description
Blue Note 1526 with New York, USA address on both labels, 43 West 61st St. address on the bottom of the back cover; deep groove both sides. Record has “ear” and “RVG” inscribed in the dead wax. On 5 tracks, includes Gigi Gryce, alto sax, flute; Charlie Rouse, tenor sax; John Lewis, piano; Percy Heath, bass; Art Blakey, drums. 5 tracks include Lou Donaldson, alto sax; Elmo Hope, piano; Heath, bass; Philly Joe Jones, drums. From 2 sessions in 1953. Cover: VG+ or better. Intact with some corner wear and light edge wear. Light impression of record ring as the front cover with overall arc of record ring on very bottom of white banner on the front cover. Light aging on the back cover. Crease on 1 corner. Record: VG+. Visually shows very light wear with a number of short light rub marks. Results in some clicks and a few crackles on slow passages but most of the record plays with no surface noise. Audibly checked.
