Dynagroove is a recording process introduced in 1963 by RCA Victor that, for the first time, used analog computers to modify the audio signal used to produce master disks for LPs. The intent was to boost bass on quiet passages, and reduce the high-frequency tracing burdens (distortion) for the less-compliant, "ball" or spherical-tipped playback cartridges then in use. With boosted bass, tracing demands could be reduced in part by reduced recording levels, sometimes supplemented by peak compression. This added top-end margin permitted selective pre-emphasis of some passages for greater perceived (psychological) brilliance of the recording as a whole. As with any computer, the program material itself changed the response of the Dynagroove electronics that processed it. But, because the changes were multiple (bass, treble, dynamic range) and algorithmic (thresholds, gain curves), RCA justifiably referred to the analog device as a computer.
Boy that was a mouthful! I'm still confused.

RCA claimed that Dynagroove had the effect of adding brilliance and clarity, realistic presence, full-bodied tone and virtually eliminated surface noise and inner groove distortion. In addition, Dynagroove recordings were mastered on RCA magnetic tape. Hans H. Fantel (who wrote liner notes on the first Dynagroove releases) summed it up with, "[Dynagroove] adds up to what is, in my opinion, a remarkable degree of musical realism. The technique is ingenious and sophisticated, but its validation is simple: the ear confirms it!"

Shipping and Handling:
All LP’s are securely packaged in a protective shipping mailer/box. The mailers are made of stiff cardboard and I've found them to be very reliable. In order to take advantage of the shipping discounts on multiple purchases, please pay for all items in one transaction. When calculating the shipping, please note a Double LP Set is considered two LP's, Boxed Collections are based on the # of discs in the collection.
Shipping and handling rates (and associated shipping discounts for multiple purchases) are as follows, based on destination:
USA - Free 1st LP + $.60 each additional LP (Media Mail)
Canada - $7.50 1st LP + $3.60 each additional LP (Airmail/First Class International)
Mexico - $9.50 1st LP + $4.60 each additional LP (Airmail/First Class International)

Domestic/USA Customers - The normal/default shipping method is 'Media Mail' via the US Postal Service, since that's the method I've found most people choose. It is a little slower than Priority Mail, but cheaper and very reliable. The Post Office says delivery time is 3-9 days, though it's usually to you in less than a week. However, if you need the item(s) in a hurry, please select the priority mail option.
