This is the seldom seen 1968 King Records yellow label promo 45 RPM # 6148. I listed this record the other day and right off the bat people were e-mailing me with ridiculous offers if I would end the auction early, and sell them the record. I bought this record so I could listen to the song ''I'm slowly molding''. I listened to the song and put the record up. When  I got ready to list it I graded it as very good.The reason I graded it very good was that the record lays flat. It is not warped. It is not cracked. The vinyl still has it's lustre.There are some minor scuffs and light scratches, but nothing that would effect the play.I knew this because I had already listened to the B side." Slowing Molding " It played without any pops or skips, jumps or clicks, and just a small amount of background noise.The label although, far from mint, is not marred by any ink marks, writting, stamps, tears in the paper or anything of that nature. The label shows a small amount of wear. The original sleeve is in near perfect condition. Only the most anal retentive freak would grade it as anything less than very good. One person asked me if I could be a little more clearer on the condition of this record. I realized as I was typing my reply that I had yet to play the A side. I put it on and it played just as nice as the B side, for about 42 seconds. That's when it happened. The needle hit something in the groove that caused it to skip over one groove. Then it happened again, and again. I examined the record and found that it has a small scratch running with the groove, causing the needle to jump over, and not just once. This is not the first time that this has happened to me. We try to listen to every record before we list it but sometimes things happen. My solution has always been to toss the record and end the auction. But here I had a record that was causing people to offer up their first born child. We pride ourselves on selling records that people can enjoy. To my way of thinking, a record that can't be played is not worth owning.None the less I have decided to relist this item. As I already had one bid on it, I was unable to change the description. I just want to make sure everyone who bids on this record understands that the A side will not play all the way through. Because of that, I now rate this record as POOR. This record is NOT, I repeat, NOT good enough to fill that gap in your collection untill a mint copy comes along. Having said all that, I'm still asking $3.00 for the record, hoping that someone realizes that the sleeve is worth that much.       Thank you, Chris and Denise. 

  We sell records in good condition. Let's talk about the grade known as good.We use the grading system endorsed by Jerry Osbourne. We are conservative in our grading. If I have a record in very good condition, I'll usually rate it as good and that way nobody is ever disappointed when they receive their item. (Check our feedback). We don't sell records that are cracked, we do not sell records that are warped. We make sure that our records can be enjoyed. Both sides will play all the way through without any pops, clicks, or skips, and with a minimum of back ground noise. Sometimes the label may show signs of wear. There may be a sticker on it, or an ink mark, but you can put it on your turntable and enjoy it. In short, any record we sell (generally speaking) will be more than good enough to fill that gap in your collection until a mint copy comes along.
