Description

 The dark wave dance music is in fact nothing new at all and may at first appear rather overly retro with its 4/4 beats, deep Goth vocals and swelling analogue synthesizers, yet somehow it feels so incredibly fresh. What it all boils down to is simple and great songwriting that never manages to become overly nostalgic but more or less continues carrying on a in a tradition, that some may first interpret as belonging to a specific time and place. The only problem with “The Trees Grew Emotion & Died” is that its short length constantly leaves you wanting more. But then again you simply have to get off your ass and turn it over. 10/10 — Cory Card (26 November, 2008)
