"A Head Full Of Dreams"
Coldplay have announced the worldwide release of their seventh album, A Head Full Of Dreams, for April 4. Announced December. Herald is the single Adventure Of A Lifetime, which is now available as a download and stream.
The album was recorded in Malibu, LA and London and produced by the Norwegian duo Stargate and the band's long-time companion, Rik Simpson. The guest list is bigger than on any previous Coldplay album: Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo and Merry Clayton appear on the 11 tracks (12 if you count the buried treasure of the hidden track X Marks The Spot).
Head Full Of Dreams is the energetic successor to the fragile and lovesick Ghost Stories (2014), the sixth worldwide chart topper in a row, which has received multiple awards and has sold several million times. The band decided not to go on tour with Ghost Stories and instead returned straight to the studio to record A Head Full Of Dreams.
With renewed vigor, they created an album that bursts with energy, color and great, life-affirming moments, such as the wonderfully exuberant first single Adventure Of A Lifetime and the rocket-like hymn For The Weekend.
Coldplay have never had so much fun recording an album as this one. And they have never been more satisfied with the results.
And this time they are also firmly planning to take it on a trip around the world.
