Description
I am currently selling off my entire record collection, (some 1500 LP's), which I will be gradually listing over the next few weeks. Please add me to your "favourites" list, as most of these items are in excellent condition and becoming hard to find. This listing is for a superb first UK pressing of Colosseum's debut LP, "Those Who Are About To Die Salute You (Morituri Te Salutant)". It is an original stereo pressing on Fontana STL 5510 1969. Matrix nos. 886765 1Y / 1 886765 2Y / 1 It features a laminated Gate-fold sleeve which is unmarked apart from a little blue star on the right hand inner of the gate-fold, (Please see photo). There are no other major marks or blemishes. The original record inner has some discolouration/browning, but is otherwise in very good condition. The record (vinyl) itself is also near mint and sounds superb. The labels are clean and bright with little or no spindle-wear. The record has been cleaned on a Keith Monks record cleaning machine and tested using an Ariston RD80SL turntable fitted with Linn Basik Plus arm and Audio Technica cartridge through a Nad preamp and Spendor BC2A active monitors. I can confirm that the record looks and sounds like new, and the music is wonderful; a mixture of jazz,rock, and prog that still sounds remarkably fresh. The musicianship is superb, and there's a vibrancy to the sound that CD can't get close to. All the records I am selling will be shipped from my home abroad in Bulgaria, so please allow at least ten days for delivery.
