Description
Hi! You're looking at an excellent condition copy of a RARE and hard to find record which is an ORIGINAL ISSUE on the Columbia Masterworks Blue (pre-"Six-Eye") label- was pressed on HEAVY VINYL and bears the serial number ML 4534 and is a High Fidelity monophonic issue (there is no true stereo version of this LP). The vinyl is NEAR MINT- condition, with a couple of very light marks that may generate pops on a few revolutions (this should be minimal, since the LP is pressed on very durable HEAVY VINYL stock), and a NM- condition cover with some shelfwear, a small mark in the bottom left corner of the front cover, a small pencilled date in the upper left of the back cover, a split along the spine, a 1 inch split on the to opening edge and 1/4 split on the lower opening edge, and a ding in the upper left corner. The record is titled "Zino Francescatti Encores" and features brilliant solo performances by the virtuoso violinist ZINO FRANCESCATTI, accompanied by ARTUR BALSAM on piano. Francescatti performs violin showpieces "Grave" by WILHELM FRIEDEMANN BACH (arranged by FRITZ KREISLER); four compositions by FRITZ KREISLER (Allegretto (In the Style of Niccolo Porpora); Praeludium and Allegro (In the Style of Pugnani); Minuet (In the Style of Niccolo Porpora; and Londonberry Air); Presto in B-Flat Major by POULENC (arranged by JASCHA HEIFETZ); A pe da Foquieira (Preludio XV) by VALLE (arranged by HEIFETZ); Meditation from "Thais" by MASSENET; O Canto Do Cysne Negro (Black Swan) by VILLA-LOBOS; Marche Joyeuse by EMMANUEL CHABRIER (arranged by SAMUEL DUSHKIN); and Chaconne in G Minor by VITALI.
