Description
Sonny Osborne had four EP's released in his name on Gateway Records in 1955 & 1956. The first release, #3009, is solo Sonny on banjo. In the next three releases, 3010-3012, he is joined by his brother & Red Allen, aka "his Sunny Mountain Boys". Songs include Blue Waves, Cripple Creek, Sunny Mountain Breakdown, Big Lee, Hand Me Down My Walking Cane, Jesse James, Swanee River, Silver Rainbow, Wildflower Song, Auld Lang Syne, Sunny Mountain Rock And Roll, Banjo Boy Chimes, Raw Hide, Cumberland Gap, Train Forty Five & Whitehouse Blues. In my opinion, all records are in VG condition. 3009 has some very visible scratches, but they don't seem to affect play. Each record has some scratch in playback, especially at the very beginning. All records have some stickers or writing on the label & have turntable wear (see photos). They all come in generic sleeves. This is a very rare set to have complete & a real slice of bluegrass history.
