Compulsive Gamblers, "Church Goin’ " 7" - Mega rare out of print blazing ep!! Fans of the Oblivians and the Reigning Sound take note. The Compulsive Gamblers were Greg Cartwright and Jack Yarber’s band before the Oblivians and Reigning Sound, circa 1989-1994 and other shorter stints concurrent with the Oblivians and after the Oblivians. Frankly, I think the Gamblers were a much better band than the Oblivians. Great alcohol-soaked garage rock that’s desperate, broken and beautiful in a way only Memphis can produce. This rare out of print gem was released on Lemon Peel Records in 1992 and contains the songs Name a Drink After You, Capone’s Finest, Scaring Myself and Dead Waltz. The jacket has a slight crease not really noticeable when it’s in the plastic sleeve. The vinyl is in excellent shape.
