Cool Jojo by Masayuki Takayanagi (Record, 2026) NEW!
New, factory-sealed 2026 Japanese pressing of Cool Jojo by Masayuki “Jojo” Takayanagi’s Second Concept. This official Three Blind Mice reissue faithfully recreates the original 1980 release, including the original obi strip and liner-note insert. Pressed on 180g vinyl in Japan, it was remastered by Isao Kikuchi and cut by Katsutoshi Kitamura at Mixers Lab / Warner Music Mastering.
Recorded in Tokyo in December 1979, Cool Jojo captures the legendary guitarist in a more electric, groove-conscious setting than his better-known free-improvisation work. Takayanagi is joined by Kenji Kohsei on piano and electric piano, Nobuyoshi Ino on bass, and Yasuhiro Yamazaki on drums. The result is a rare and deeply rewarding blend of Japanese jazz, electric fusion, and late-night urban atmosphere—an essential Three Blind Mice title for serious Japanese-jazz collectors.
