Description
Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting records in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. I may have obscure things that you didn't even know you wanted!
A good copy of the first Cream album - A2/B1 matrix.
Pictures are my own photos of the items for sale. Photos are part of the description, have a good look.
Cover - is front-laminated. Good but not great - front shows ring-wear, some scallop creases, and wear to the lamination in a line at bottom right. Another crease following edge of the record at top left, and some short creases in from the edges. Top and bottom edges are good, but spine is worn and not legible. Back is good but have a look at my photo of it - handwriting and drawing on it.
Record - Looks very good, but some flaws can be found if you work at it - side one has a fingernail mark going from track 4 into track 5. There are 4 or 5 short scratches along the grooves on track 2. There's a light scratch on track one, and a very short fingernail-type impact near end of track 5. On side two, a little group of small impacts at end of track 3 and into track 4. Track 5 has a larger impact on it, and a scratch at the end of the track, and another light one at the start. There are a pair of long light scratches going from track 2 to track 5, and a little group of 3 very short stylus impacts at end of track 1 into start of track 2. It's an excellent-sounding album in general, super sound. Play-test on side one - little to report by way of audible problems! On "NSU", occasional background crackles only in quiet parts - and there are only two or three quiet moments. "Sleepy Time Time" - quiet crackles and one louder one, in quiet first few seconds, and one quiet crackle in solo voice passage. Next two - no problems. On "Spoonful", one crackle near the start, and a couple of crackles in quiet moment near the end. On side two, "Cat's Squirrel" just has a couple of light crackles in solo vocal moment. Four Till Late - no problems. Rollin' and Tumblin' has one crackle in a momentary pause in the song. On "I'm So Glad", an audible light scratch, not loud, near the start - audible for about 7 rotations, plus soft crackles in quiet moments. On "Toad", light clicks that get louder in the ensemble first part, then in the drum solo there are light clicks sometimes, getting louder and more frequent later-on, and still audible when rest of the group come in for the ending. In summary, a very good record with long stretches of trouble-free listening.
When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.
Postage at cost within UK - £3.00 plus 50p for a proper record mailer Happy to do combined postage wherever practical. I'll charge you what it costs me - so anything up to six (or so) LPs still the same £3.50.
I'm happy to send this overseas. See below for details, if bidding from outside UK - you need to know this stuff. Overseas customers - DON'T request an invoice, it screws-up the e-bay system.
Dispatch will usually be "next day".
Collection in person is welcome.
I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad. Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.
They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.
This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices.
E-Bay UK tells me, they do NOT do combined postage in the Global Shipping Programme. Charges to the customer for delivery are whatever you're told they are - if you don't want to pay the postal / courier charges, then do not bid.
International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.
If your country is not mentioned, please do not bid.
International postage to the following countries will be shown (this is the latest list that I've seen - lotta countries!)
Australia Austria Belgium Bulgaria Canada Croatia Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Hungary Ireland Israel Italy Japan Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands New Zealand Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand Turkey Norway Poland Portugal Romania Russia Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden, United States, Antigua & Barbuda Aruba Bangladesh Barbados Belize Bermuda Bolivia Brunei Darussalam Cambodia Cayman Islands Dominica Ecuador Egypt French Guiana Gibraltar Grenada Guadeloupe Guernsey Iceland Jersey Jordan Liechtenstein Macau Maldives Martinique Monaco Montserrat Nicaragua Oman Pakistan Paraguay Peru Reunion Saint Kitts & Nevis Saint Lucia Sri Lanka and Turks & Caicos Islands
International postage plus applicable customs charges will probably be shown to buyers in the following non-EU countries - E-Bay collects customs duty for the receiving country: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Russia and USA, and wherever else import duty is appropriate - e.g. Norway. I don't send to China.
