CROSBY, STILLS & NASH- Atlantic TEST PRESSING “Marrakesh Express” - 1969
This is a one-sided 7-inch 45 RPM test pressing of “Marrakesh Express” manufactured by Atlantic Records in the late spring of 1969.
In 1966, Graham Nash, lead singer of the Hollies, traveled by train from Casablanca to Marrakesh, inspiring him to write this song. His group, the Hollies, rejected the tune as not being commercial enough for them. Crosby, Stills & Nash recorded the song for their self-titled album in 1969 and the song was released as a single in July of that year, reaching #28 on Billboard's Hot 100 and hit the top 20 in both the United Kingdom and Canada.

Provenance: This copy originally belonged to Boston area disc jockey Ken Rapoza who worked at several stations as an on-air personality and a program director, beginning in the 1960s. After his death in a 1987 motorcycle accident, it was inherited by another Massachusetts disc jockey and collector who had it for more than 35 years before his death in 2024.
