Description
The Daisy Chain "Straight or Lame" L.P. on the United International label from 1966.(LPS 13001). This extremely rare record is being offered at a VERY modest Reserve. PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION COMPLETELY BEFORE BIDDING. This all-girl psych pop L.P. was limited to only 500 copies. All copies have the MONO cover, but this record is DUOPHONIC Stereo. (The true MONO verson is nearly impossible to find). Even this re-channeled stereo version only rarely appears for sale. The DUOPHONIC Stereo version sounds understandably distorted in places due to the bastardized process of ruining a beautiful MONO recording through re-channeling. (Sorry, but I had to say it). Serious Psych / Acid / Fuzz / Garage collectors will know this record, so I will spare you the descripion of the hippie-pop weirdo music found on this LP.
Condition: Cover is in G to VG- condition, with a 9" seam split along top. Spine and bottom seam are intact, but show wear. Front and Back of cover show moderate surface and ring-wear, and corner wear. Condition of record far exceeds condition of cover.
Labels on both sides of the L.P. are in beautiful condition with only the faintest trace of spindle marks when examined very closely. Record: Side 1 shows very modest surface wear with some very fine marks. Strong VG to VG+ and plays with very slight surface noise. Side 2: VG. Shows a mark through the first 2 tracks that does produce an audible tick (approx. 6X in track 2), when played. While there IS some slight surface noise on this record, (Shure V15-VXMR at 1 gram), it is not unnescessarily distracting. Given the detail of this description, I am certain that the winning bidder will be pleasantly surprised at the overall condition of the vinyl.
