An impressively chaotic and shambolic album, with two very distinct halves. The first is dirty rock ‘n’ roll, with ‘Diamond Dogs’ and ‘Rebel Rebel’ allowing Bowie to discover his ‘inner Jagger’ (I’m sure there’s an innuendo there somewhere), the latter being, surely, the indisputable highlight, with a riff that could only be equalled by ‘Ziggy Stardust’. There’s also the the bluesy ‘Sweet Thing’/’Candidate’ medley for filling, a well thought-out combination that lacks a little punch. The second half, based around an abandoned 1984 musical, is a little hit and miss, but in ‘1984’ and ‘Big Brother’ are two enchanting soulful numbers, which more than anything hint at his next career move. On balance a great album, but a little inconsistent to be one of his classics.

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG NEAR MINT. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The record is pressed on a RELATIVELY  thick, inflexible vinyl. This is NOT a thin, flimsy ('dynaflex' type),  vinyl, but not the thickest, most rigid vinyl, either.

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·                               THE COVER

COVER IS STRONG NEAR MINT,  STILL IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP   (A PIECE OF SHRINK WRAP IS MISSING)

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         The cover has a razor-like line (cut) on the back panel, as if someone attempted to cut away the shrink wrap with a razor, but inadvertently left the mark on the cover as well. The paper slick is intact and no part is missing, but the razor line is visible.

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 1.   (VISIBLE ON FRONT SIDE ONLY)
