This is the first UK pressing of this 1974 single with the very rare solid centre. Most original copies were pressed in the USA or Canada (with smooth labels and a large, juke-box style centre hole). Original UK pressings are hard to find, but the solid centre version is very rare.
The playing surfaces look great with very little to see and I think that the record probably hasn't been played much. There is a small manufacturing dimple on the run-in to the B side, but this has no impact on the record's playability and is only mentioned for the sake of completness. I've listened to both sides and apart from a couple of clicks in the run-in grooves they sound superb with nothing else to report.
At over six minutes long the A side was never destined to sound its best on the 7 inch format, but this is great with just a handful of clicks at the very start of the disc before the music starts. The B side is under three minutes and absolutely leaps out of the speakers, again with a couple of clicks on the run-in, but nothing to spoil the music
I would play-grade this as Excellent (Ex) on the A side and Near Mint (NM) on the B side.
It comes with an RCA company sleeve, although I'm not sure that it's the original to this disc and it is quite tatty anyway.
