Very difficult to imagine when first issued this stunning Bowie album didn't sell many copies and it was not until the success of his later album, Ziggy Stardust, that RCA re released Hunky Dory. The re release, though, did not retain the laminated sleeve or the flat full gloss labels and did not have the 'Bobil' and 'Rasputin' text on run out grooves. Also, the re issues came with 'Mainman', Bowie's management company's name, on rear sleeve and label. So, first issues like this one are becoming very scarce and more sought after by Bowie collectors worldwide.
Vinyl and Labels - Excellent
There are a few of the faintest non sounding hairlines, only just visible under harsh light, and plays to a strong excellent standard with some light crackle and the odd isolated click. No serious playing faults to interfere with listening pleasure, sounds great. Very rare to find this album with vinyl being in this strong excellent condition, looks stunning and audio is rich and powerful without any real problems, a real gem, not to be missed.
Laminated Sleeve And Lyric Insert - V. Good/Ex
Some mild to moderate non excessive laminate creases and general non excessive storage wear. No serious faults, just a genuine, honest very good example of a rare sleeve. The RCA inner sleeve and lyric insert are in excellent condition.
I am a record collector myself and know how important it is to receive records in the condition they are advertised in and for them not to be damaged in transit through inadequate packaging.
I send out all my records using strong stiff cardboard with extra bubble wrap protection. Also the record is removed from outer and original inner sleeves, placed in a strong non original inner then it goes inside protective polyhene sleeve side by side with original sleeves.
If the value of the record is over £30.00 GBP insurance up to the value of the record is recommended
