A 1971 ORIGINAL STEREO pressing.
DAVID BOWIE was still sporting the 'Dress Cover' period long wavy locks at this album's release, preceding the spikey red hair on his launch to a similar superstardom as his old friend Marc Bolan. Perhaps it was T.Rex fame that encouraged David to be more outrageous and join the Glam Rock revolution. As we know - he propelled beyond being a passenger to the absolute driving force!
This album is comparatively 'normal' with great rock songs, yet you can hear it's not so very diverse from the Ziggy Stardust material.... just Bowie's image was subdued. Still there are the wonderful and original compositions, of which there were total CLASSICS 'Changes', 'Oh! You Pretty Things' and of course 'Life On Mars'.
This lp is definitely significant in setting the stage for one of the greatest entertainers and musicians of our times...... and here's the original issue pressing, predating the 'MAINMAN' publishing credit on subsequent issues.
Note; it shouldn't be forgotten that Mick Ronson (RIP) was VERY instrumental in this and the following albums. His arrangements were expert - he played guitar wonderfully (and could manage keyboards too, as he played on Lou Reed's 'Perfect Day' and had a hand in his breakthrough album). He toured with Bob Dylan too.
A fine musician.
CONDITION;
The VINYL grades NM. Top shine, and plays great.
Labels are in lovely NEAR MINT CONDITION, no pen, stickers or tears.
The LAMINATED card COVER is EXCELLENT.
Clean without writing or stickers.
