Description
DAVID BOWIE - HUNKY DORY SF 8244
Original UK Laminated Edition
Very rare to find these on the market, most Hunky Dory records have a matt-finished cover.
Lyric insert is included, a bit crumpled, as well as the original plain white inner sleeve.
Matrix numbers end with 3T and 3T on both sides with Bobil - AIEF and Rasputin - AIM hand etched on the inner groove.
Cover
The cover is in Very Good + condition. There is no writing or staining; it is nice and clean overall. The colours are very rich and detailed, as a result of the protective laminate. The wording on the spine is preserved, clean and reasonably solid.
There is some ring-wear and corner crease on the right hand side of the cover that should be mentioned (please see photograph). It also has a barely noticeable thumb indentation near the opening of the cover (as seen over ear of DB). There are also some light creases on corners and edges.
Record
Side one is in Excellent condition. It has a beautiful glossy surface with the lightest of surface markings. The audio is excellent with only slight crackling sounds in the quiet parts.
Side two has a few light scratches over the first song, “Fill Your Heart”. They are not deep, but they are visible and cause a light ticking sound throughout the song and the first seconds of the second, “Andy Warhol”. The ticking dissipates once the song intro ends and the guitar begins (for those of you who are familiar with the song). The rest of side two is very nice with very light surface markings similar to side one. In light of the visible scratches and ticking sound I described, I rate this side as Very Good.
The labels are in Near Mint condition, high gloss and slippery to the touch. They appear untouched with no spindle marks whatsoever.
