DAVID BOWIE: HALLO SPACEBOY Original 1996 Pink Press + MORRISSEY TOUR INSERT.
Presented for auction is this superb, original pink vinyl copy of Bowie's 1996 single taken from the 1. Outside album, Hello Spaceboy/The Heart's Filthy Lesson.
What makes this already collectable record more exceptional is that is contains a full colour insert flyer for Bowie's upcoming, ill-fated tour with Morrissey. The dates as shown here were infamously never completed, with Morrissey withdrawing from the tour after the gig in Cardiff. I have not seen this insert presented with other copies that appear here.
On the reverse of the booking info are pictures of both artists latest albums - Bowie 1. Outside, Morrissey Southpaw Grammar.
The vinyl itself appears unplayed, the shocking pink surfaces bright and totally unmarked, free from all scratches, scuffs and warp. On the Hearts Filthy Lesson side there are a pair of wispy lines where it appears BMG previously hadn't quite cleaned the vinyl presses properly and just a little normal black vinyl has been allowed to infiltrate the cerise! It creates a quite psychedelic effect on the turntable but has absolutely no effect on the playback. Perhaps this is the only pink AND black copy of the disc!
The sleeve is as new, crisp and smart, compete with the hype sticker announcing it had been produced by The Pet Shop Boys and the B side was also in the upcoming movie "Seven". Both labels are mint, no rips writing or stickers.
All in all, this is as good a copy of Hallo Spaceboy as you will ever find - and this one has that very welcome extra of the abandoned Bowie/Morrissey tour insert.
