Description
Original US test pressing LP for “Hunky Dory” from 1971 – like any test pressing, limited to only a handful of copies, making it one of the rarest items in any artists’ catalog. There are 9 tracks total (4 on side one, 5 on side 2), and it comes in a plain white sleeve (as originally issued, no doubt). White labels, on which “David Bowie – Not for Airplay” is HANDWRITTEN on one side only – there is no track listing. The matrix number scratched into the run-off grooves is APRS-5948-35-A/A.
I purchased this privately from a fanatic Bowie collector in Los Angeles several years ago. I’ve only played it once since owning it and kept it in protective plastic (and a Japanese inner sleeve) ever since. There is the usual amount of surface noise for a test pressing – typically not the highest quality vinyl was used, but it won’t detract from the listening experience.
