Description

DAVID BOWIE "PINUPS" ULTRA RARE 1st PRESS TEXTURED SLEEVE   Pinups was released on 19th October 1973 and was a huge seller. However, its release coincided with the start of the oil crisis and, as a result, only the very first copies were actually produced in the UK with the majority produced in other countries such as France and Canada. UK 1st pressings are very hard to come by and can be differentiated from all subsequent pressings because they have a lightly textured sleeve.

OUR GRADING
Always a bone of contention, record grading can vary from dealer to dealer. We use the standard record collectors grading system as follows:

  • Mint - Brand new, never played.
  • Near Mint - No visible faults, good sound quality, very well looked after. Sleeves will have no damage or shelf wear. Paper scuffs may be evident on the vinyl but these should not interfere with sound quality.
  • Excellent (EXC) - The record shows some signs of having been played but will be well cared for and play well. May click or have some background noise evident but nothing serious. Sleeves will be intact but may have a few edge scuffs or tiny creases.
  • Very Good - Used but still playable. Odd light scratch, paper scuffs and spindle wear but nothing that interferes with sound quality. Sleeves may have ring wear, scuffs creases and even handwriting..
  • Good - Evidence of frequent plays - the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated. Light scratches, surface noise etc. Sleeves will be creased, may have seam splits or tears. Intact though.
  • Fair - Don't go there....we don't!

PLEASE NOTE - We visually grade all our LPs, both the vinyl and the cover - some we actually get time to play. We deal in second hand albums that can be up to fifty years old and they will have a few nicks and dings here and there through natural shelf wear and being played. Anything we have any doubt about we play to satisfy ourselves as to quality. In this digital age its easy to forget the rich sound quality of vinyl, especially the hisses, crackles and other noises!

Please feel free to e-mail if you have any queries or questions - I will do my best to answer them.
