This is surely the rarest David Bowie LP ever pressed.

Look at it. Beautiful isn't it. And its beauty lies in the items

true rarity....

The mythical, Purple vinyl 1980 original pressing of David`s masterpiece

and ground breaking classic, Scary Monsters.

Excruciatingly rare (only 3 copies known to exist). Making it one of the most desired

and highly prised Bowie LPs in existence. This painfully rare gem would surely be

the centrepiece of any Bowie collection. To all the hardest of the hard Bowie collectors,

as long as your collection is missing this beauty, your collection can never be complete.

The condition of the cover is pretty unimportant as you could replace it easily with a mint

one for £20. This auction is all about the vinyl and the sheer rarity of this fantastic piece.

So to condition.

And it very important you take your time and read this.

The track SCARY MONSTERS AND SUPER CREEPS plays perfectly for

a couple of minutes but then it jumps about a dozen times so this track can not

be enjoyed. You can see the scratch if you double click the pictures.

The rest of the LP plays EXELLENTLY with no problems at all. No hissing

no sticking no background noise and no jumps.

If the track Scary monsters played as well as the rest of the LP this

record would have a reserve of £5000 and even that would be cheap.

I have set a reserve on this rare LP that reflects the items only problematic

track, Scary Monsters. I myself searched for 12 years to find this great item

and despite its problem, as a serious collector its great to add this piece

into your collection, and I have really enjoyed owning this ultra rare

David Bowie collectable.

Germany is £12.10 first class tracked and insured.

            At 10 to it reads           I CANT THINK      All these 3 writings are hand etched.

Side 2  At 12 o clock it reads  BOWLP2 - B3

            At 10 past it reads        TOWNHOUSE

            At 1/4 past it reads       OF ANYTHING      All these 3 writings are hand etched.

            At 20 past it reads        62734E2/3

            At 25 past it reads        A1AW                      Both these writings are factory stamped.

I must say I have never known a record to have so much info in the dead wax.

A few years ago the Financial times ran a 4 page report,(im sure it will be on

the net somewhere). On what were the most lucrative investments over that last

50 years in the UK, for those of us fortunate enough to have a bit of spare cash 

to invest with. Here they are and in this order.

Number one was antique cars, followed by antique watches. Three was property,

and number 4 was our old friend.Vinyl. In each category the FT said it is imperative

 you invest in the right stuff. Think about that ! And then named certain watches,cars

and property postcodes.

The vinyl they listed was The Beatles ,the Stones , Prog rock and DAVID BOWIE.

As huge as David`s legacy is. I think it`s still just the beginning. And here is why.

And who amongst  you would not agree with this....?

As we look back and lament David`s work and his life. The more you look at Bowie`s

work, the more you see..... I think the world will see more and more and more as

time moves on, and we will realise much more than we already do, in what we had,

in this ground breaking artist. And that word, right there, is key.

Much more than just a rock star.

Bowie changed everything.

And he is still doing it !

David Bowie did more for music than Picasso ever

did for painting. I can see it now in my minds eye.
