DAVID BOWIE - SPACE ODDITY.
CHINESE STOCK ISSUE . ULTRA RARE !
CHINESE PRESSINGS ARE IMPOSSIBLY DIFFICULT TO LOCATE
AND A RARELY SEEN FOR SALE ANYWHERE !
ONLY THE MOST SERIOUS COLLECTORS EVEN KNOW
THESE PRESSINGS EXIST .
This is an original Chinese stock issue of Bowie`s 1973 masterpiece SPACE ODDITY .
As you can see from the pictures it comes with a green tinge monochrome flip back sleeve.
The sleeve is made of very thin card stock so is very delicate ,so condition is pretty amazing
when you consider this item is 43 years old.
China unlike Japan did not pride itself on the manufacturing of vinyl records this is evident
if you take a look at the record labels . The records that they did produce were pressed in tiny
numbers which explains why these pressings are so hard to find , and why they are so prised by
serious collectors .
The sleeve has a few marks and ringware visable in the pictures so I would grade the sleeve
as Very Good .
These Chinese pressings were made of extremely thick and heavy vinyl and also made with
a much denser shellac mix which is not unlike acetate or those old 78s your parents used in the 50s
and 60s . The record has a few hairlines but nothing to cause any concern to the listener and it
plays magnificently from start to finish and I would grade the vinyl as Exellent .
So a great addition to the more serious collectors who search
for unusual Bowie records that like this, are very interesting and painfully rare just try to locate another.
