Description
This is a nice mega rare New Zealand pressed DAVID BOWIE 7’’ on the PHILIPS label as featured in Issue 309 of the RECORD COLLECTOR magazine in the Digging for Gold section and says…………..
The single which marked the beginning of Bowie’s most heralded period. Space Oddity, appears here in it’s original New Zealand form. Like most 45s released in NZ, it only appeared in the paper company sleeve (complete with groovy stars and moons). It was reissued on RCA Victor in the early 70s, but again only appeared in the RCA company bag. Reaching No 5 in the UK and featuring Rick Wakeman on piano, the flip-side, Wild Eyed Boy From Free Cloud, differs from the LP version. Here it is stripped down to just Bowie on guitar and vocals and Paul Buckmaster on cello. Kiwi copies in good condition fetch anywhere between 70-100 pounds, depending on where you shop. (CAT# BF 304201) 1969.
COVER. EX. (Company sleeve, not the one above) VINYL. EX.
