You are about to bid on a very special auction; a massively rare signed 1973 UK 1st pressing of  the classic Aladdin Sane, by David Bowie. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and, where possible, have only selected the most pristine 1st pressings I have found.  My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, demo's etc, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, most now have to find new homes. As I said, I am very strict with my grading, so when I describe a record as Nr Mint - you can rest assured that it will be a true Nr Mint record (I never grade any records as Mint because Mint does not exist unless you own a time machine and go back and bag a job in a 1960's record pressing plant!)

Description and background: I have been collecting rare Bowie memorabilia for a long time now and this is one of my all-time favourites, it is a 100% genuine signed UK 1st pressing of the classic Aladdin Sane. David Bowie has signed it clearly 'To Dave, Love Bowie' against the white sleeve background on the left side of the sleeve. This record has been in my collection for a very long time and it is going to be very hard to part with, so I just want this one to go to a good home. The original owner had this record signed by Bowie after sneaking into Bowie's dressing room with his then girlfriend (she was also armed with an LP for David to sign) before a UK gig sometime around 1973-74 and remembers Bowie as being one of the nicest guys he had ever met, who was delighted to hear the crack military operation he and his girlfriend went through to avoid the security and get into the changing room! The previous owner remembers being amazed at how relaxed and good natured Bowie was and how he seemed to have all the time in the world to sit and chat before going onstage to perform to thousands of people! This has long been one of the highpoints of my Bowie collection and due to my attachment to it, and the actual value of this record itself I have done something I don't usually do, and put a small reserve on it. It is not a massive reserve for what this is, and still leaves the winner with a chance to get it at a fair price, it just insures me that it at least reaches a fair reflection of its worth. If it does not reach the reserve than I will probably keep it and not offer it again, I'll let fate decide with this one. Condition: The actual record itself is in outstanding condition considering what it must have gone through to get signed! It appears to be the UK 1st pressing with Mainman credits and orange RCA labels etc. The disc is Ex+ with no marks at all save for one or two tiny paper-lines only visible when angling the record under extreme light. The all important sleeve is is superb condition with no flaws at all! It is super stiff and opens out to reveal a mint inner gatefold. It is complete with its original inner sleeve and the disc will come to you housed in a separate poly lined inner sleeve to protect both disc and inner sleeve. This remarkable record easily grades as Ex+ and is a real beauty. It would look great as the focal point of a rare collection or just framed, it is up to you. It has recently been pointed out to me that some eBay sellers have been using my images without permission. If you are thinking of lifting a picture or two from my pages - don't. You will be reported and your auction will be removed by eBay. It's not that I mind, in fact its kinda flattering, my real problem is that whoever does this is not showing a true image of the actual record they are selling. The condition of old 1960's & 70's records varies greatly, no two are in exactly the same condition when they are this age. All my pictures are very specific to the actual records I sell and it is wholly misleading to to show these images with reference to a different record. Thanks.

We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed.
