Description

Hi, and welcome to my auction!

Firstly let me point out that I’m not a record collector or trader, just someone who’s discovered that many of those LPs he bought back in the 60’s and 70’s could actually be worth a bit of cash!

I always looked after my records, and had good quality (perhaps best described as mid-range audiophile) hi-fi equipment. Having bought one of the first CD players in 1984, I rapidly converted and consequently put all my albums into storage, where they have been ever since.

So ... here’s one of my original David Bowie LPs, 'Ziggy Stardust.' The vinyl itself is in played condition, with only very light, very minor marking. There is still a good ‘shine’ to the surface and the labels are clean and shiny with no visible slight spindle marks.

How to check that it's a first pressing.....

The sleeve must have 'Victor' under the RCA logo, not 'International'

The rear must have no mention of 'Mainman'

It must be a Robert Stace sleeve

The labels must be glossy, not matt

The vinyl must not be flimsy

The label must have 'Titanic' credits

The Matrix number must be stamped, and must be  BGBS 0864 - followed by 1E/2E

IF ANY OF THESE ARE MISSING THEN YOU ARE NOT LOOKING AT A VERY FIRST PRESSING

The cover is in fantastic condition, with virtually no discernible creasing or LP imprint just a couple of minor marks that can be seen on the rear. The inner is the original lyric / photo version in very good condition.
