Label / Format: RCA Victor – Original genuine first orange pressing with the ultra shiny, gloss smooth finish. Importantly this has the ‘Titanic Music’ credits which indicates a first pressed 1972 copy. Pressed on real high quality vinyl – NOT DYNAFLEX !.

It is a pleasure to offer for sale one of the most famous Rock albums of all-time as a genuine early 1972 pressing and in simply stunning condition ! This record has been played no more than once or twice and carefully stored away.

Rarity: The earliest pressings from 1972 on the RCA Victor label are very scarce, make no mistake. This copy is pressed on real vinyl, NOT Dynaflex. This is easily determined as RCA orange copies pressed on the stuff had the word ‘Dynaflex’ printed on the labels – The title itself is fairly easily found but most are later pressings, often pressed on Dynaflex or imported wafer thin US pressings.

The majority of RCA International records had different coloured labels or matt finished orange RCA’s, the true original glossy labels are far more difficult to source. A heavy pressed UK example with the -1E/-2E matrixes in pristine conditions are rarely found. The matrixes on this example are deeply punched and very clear and precise !.

Complete with the original GEM Productions Robert Stace Picture sleeve and the original lyric printed inner sleeve

Sleeve condition: EXCELLENT+!! Overall condition is excellent although it has a few very light creases along the bottom edge nothing major !!

Label Conditions: Both immaculate almost as new (Virtually no spindle wear). Definitive and ultra attractive the stunning glossy finish looks hardly handled.

Vinyl condition: EXCELLENT+!! Just has a couple of very light surface marks on the playing surface nothing major and has a lovely deep black shine on both sides !!

How we grade the condition of our records:

We use the Record Collector magazine grading system to evaulate all the vinyl we list. Most evaluation has to be done visually, as there isn't time to listen to everything, though sometimes it is necessary to make sure and this will be mentioned when done.

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:

MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

**NEAR MINT (NM) is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
