Conditions : cover shows a moderate wear and tear along the edges and around the corners in addition to some tiny brown spot near the upper edge on the back. Spine is intact, EX / vinyl has some hairlines and scuffs which do not affect play at all, EX

STRICTLY GRADED

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc. ... are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Notes : music composed, arranged and conducted by David Buttolph, orchestration by Gus Levene, vocal arrangements by Charles Henderson. " I Left My Love " is composed by Stan Jones. The fascination of music by famous American Civil War movies like this has always struck me favorably for both the expressive spontaneity of the tunes usually free from redundant and unnecessary constructions, and for the intrinsic beauty of sounds and songs that can let me imagine a historical era which of course i have not lived.
It 's the case of the compositions on this album including many traditional arias and songs skillfully arranged by Buttolph. The era of the Civil War is well reflected by the music alternating epic and triumphal themes and proud songs to atmospheres depicting pain and sorrow, longing for peace and love, and even a bit of merriment.
