SECOND SOLO ALBUM from this British blues rock institution. The music is killer soulful hard blues rock featuring the guitar of Micky Moody and some other great session players including Roger Glover, Tony Newman and Tim Hinckley. Nice to hear Coverdale playing honest down to earth rock and soul before turning the whole thing into an glam rock 80s circus.The title track is arguably one of his greatest achievements - a truly evocative and soulful piece with gloriously understated vocals.
As you know this is the original issue in a beautifully textured cover which is extremely hard to find let alone in such immaculate condition. Most copies are found trashed but this one is top.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
Pressing: Purple, UK, 1978
Vinyl: Nice clean condition - can only have been played two or three times. One very faint lone spindle mark and only minimal signs of any other use - mainly from sliding in and out of the cardboard inner sleeve. Grades as top near Archive MINT!
Cover: No visible signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed fully textured cover - retains full printers bloom. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff, square and totally uncrushed. Just a hint of storage wear. Impossible to find like this after 40 years. Grades as top MINT-!
