Description

This is the extremely rare Promo 45 from the Apple LP "The Pope Smokes Dope."  Produced by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
A Side: PRO-6498. Mono. "F Is Not A Dirty Word" (3:12).  If you are familiar with the song, the album version does not bleep out the "F" word.  The 45 does.  
B Side: SPRO-6499. Stereo ":The Ballad Of New York City/John Lennon- Yoko Ono." (3:19).
Peel only had two Apple 45's; neither were ever released as stock copies for sale to the public.  Only promo copies were issued to radio stations only.  And these were usually not played on air because of the content.
This record has never been played.  There are no marks, stickers, or any writing on the record. (See pics). If you collect Apple or Beatles related items, this one would make your collection stand out.     I am a private collector for over 40 years who is now liquidating entire collection.  Shipping cost to be calculated at end of auction  Shipping to US addresses only.  Will combine shipping with other records.
